Somerset, September 14 - A donation from Oticon Pediatrics to Hands & Voices, a nationwide parent-driven organization devoted to serving families with children from birth to age 21 who are deaf or hard of hearing, will support the group's national training and education outreach program. The Oticon Pediatrics donation is part of Oticon's ongoing commitment to partnering with organizations that share the leading hearing instrument manufacturer's commitment to child-friendly hearing care.
"At Oticon, our commitment to People First has always includes a dedicated focus on the needs of children with hearing loss," stated Oticon President Peer Lauritsen. "We know that advanced technology is only a part of the solution when children are concerned. Hands & Voices has earmarked the Oticon Pediatrics donation to further the training and education of the group's state and regional Guide By Your Side programs, with an emphasis on giving accurate and timely information and emotional support at a parent-to-parent level. "We appreciate Oticon Pediatrics' willingness to not only teach, but to learn from the families and professionals using their products," said Leeanne Seaver, M.A., Executive Director of Hands & Voices.
