Alexander Graham Bell Association and WCA to Host Golf Event at WCA 2007 to Benefit Children with Hearing Loss

Washington, D.C., May 10, 2007 In celebration of its twentieth anniversary, the Wireless Communications Association International has partnered with the Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (AG Bell) and Blue Ridge Speech and Hearing to host a charity golf tournament in conjunction with the annual convention WCA 2007 with proceeds to benefit children with hearing loss. The tournament supports the AG Bell Hear from the Start, Talk for a Lifetime public education campaign to raise awareness of childhood hearing loss among health care professionals and parents of infants and toddlers.

The tournament will be held June 11 at the Golf Club at Lansdowne on the Robert Trent Jones, Jr., golf course with a tee-off scheduled for 1:30 pm. The tournament will be followed by a reception for all players, interested WCA 2007 attendees and wireless broadband industry representatives. Registration is $150 for early registrants and WCA members before May 20; after May 20 registration will be $175. Sponsors to date include Alvarion, DigitalBridge Communications, NextWave Wireless and Patton Boggs, LLP.

The golf tournament will be the opening program for WCA 2007, the industry's premiere event featuring leaders of the most advanced wireless broadband service providers in the United States and internationally, as well as major system integrators, financiers, solutions providers and enterprise applications. Blue Ridge Speech and Hearing is a not-for-profit community resource founded in 1964 offering speech, language, and hearing professional services at a very reasonable cost.
