A licensed hearing aid dispenser, also referred to a hearing aid specialist, has training in the assessment of patients who specifically seek treatment for hearing loss. The hearing aid specialist is licensed or registered by the state in which they practice, to perform basic hearing tests and can sell and service hearing aids and related products.
The level of education and training required for hearing aid dispensers varies by state.
