The National Council on Aging released a study in 1999 on 2,300 individuals with hearing loss who were over the age of 50. This study looked both at people with untreated hearing loss, and those who had treated their hearing loss with hearing aids. Those who treated their hearing loss with hearing aids reported improvements in many areas including relationships, self-confidence, social life, self-esteem, and yes, even their sex life! The study concluded that hearing aids not only help you hear better, but actually improve quality of life.
