Sticky Film on Hearing Aid Case from Battery

What youre seeing is electrolyte migration. Rayovac has created a new sealant process to prevent this electrolyte migration. You will initially see a very thin film on the battery and you may hardly notice it is there. As the moisture in the electrolyte evaporates a white dust will appear. This is leakage which will eventually cause problems in the hearing aid so its important to take the batteries out overnight. The new sealant process by Rayovac will help prevent this problem in the future.
